Coffee does not give me enough of a buzz

For some reason, even though I basically walk around in wobbly circles all day at work, I find myself liking it. I still hope I can get the library assistant job, even if it is only one extra day a week.
I am very ready to be done with school, even if my class this semester is Awesome.

He is Risen

I love Easter. I love the hymns, the food, being with my family. My sister came over yesterday to make baklava and koulourakia with our mother and I and talk. I love these pre-festival preparations. I laid out and arranged the filo dough and Alix brushed on the butter and it settled into a repetitive pattern as we talked about family and friends, her up-coming wedding and work. Mom made the syrup and started on the dough for the koulourakia. We didn't have enough sugar so we added more honey instead and the baklava came out much better this year. The sermon this morning was very nice, church was packed. Dad's lamb was excellent and the wines he opened were perfect. And we still have extra pastry as well as a bowl of red eggs.
I find it funny when people comment on the paganism of the eggs and rabbits as not relating to the Christian festival as though they've just discovered the crack in the whole shebang. Like you can't celebrate two different traditions at once, like you should limit yourself. Even as a kid I understand that the rabbits had nothing to do with Christ's resurrection and had more to do with the rebirth of the world. And if you can't see it that way, well, dyed eggs are colorful decorations and edible and bunnies are cute. Sometimes that's all you need. We just came through a harsh winter with heavy snows, power outages, and for a lot of people, much, much worse. Rejoice! With rabbits.

Randomizing Taboo Words

You know what, if I can't say 'retard' anymore then all you all who aren't officially obsessive compulsive are no longer allowed to use the term to describe yourselves or others when you're only being slightly anal about something. It's a slight to those of us who have been diagnosed with and live every exasperating day with, OCD. Plus, it's just plain old fucking obnoxious.

ALSO! You are no longer allowed to use the words schizo, bi-polar, psychotic, or mental as insults as this is demeaning to those who officially bear these as labels. Nor is 'pussy' or 'gay' to be used as an insult against guys you feel are wusses as it is demeaning to women and homosexuals to have your gender or sexuality used as an insult. Just come right out with it and tell the person you're bullying that they have a pencil-dick, you linguistically impotent cowards. If you are going to insult somebody, do it right.

Of course, no one is going to listen to me anyway and it only pisses me off for about half-a-minute to have someone use my life-long disorder as a mildly funny insult, so: retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, retard, you word censurers are all fucking retarded. Get a life, duckfuckers. Seriously.

First of a Delayed Class

Cataloging and Classification finally met today. Our professor did her level best to scare the crap out of us all but as we are already (technically) two classes in there is no way any of us are going to be switching classes.
I'm really very tired of school and at the same time I'm actually interested in the challenge posed by trying to plow through the rules contained in the AACR2R to create catalog records. Which is incredibly nerdy of me, but I except that.
I think people should shout out random things more often on the metro platform. I need more free, live entertainment.
I am running into a problem looking for a new job or an internship. Crappy economy and lack of confidence. I feel like I couldn't possibly do a real job while intellectually I know that's complete bull.
I have more books than I can read which is a happy situation. I just finished The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon. Paranoid and very mired in the decade it was written in I found it quick and interesting. Fun.
I've also found a new anime series to watch: Darker Than Black. It has incredibly gross moments but it's rather captivating. Interesting characters and an intriguing world.
